About Blue Frog Bar and Grill

Blue Frog, Lan Wa ('blue frog') in Chinese, is a Chinese western-style bar and grill restaurant chain founded in 1999 by American entrepreneur Bob Boyce and headquartered in the Pudong free-trade zone in Shanghai. Its first restaurant opened in 2002 on South Maoming Road, and the brand became one of the reference points of western casual dining in China's big cities.

Its menu combines burgers, barbecue ribs, steaks, pasta and salads with a bar of beers, wines and cocktails and a popular happy-hour slot, in informal venues aimed at both local residents and the international community. The chain is part of the AmRest restaurant group and operates restaurants in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Wuxi and Chengdu, among other cities.

Blue Frog maintains its official Chinese-language website as the channel for its menu, locations and promotions, and is one of the longest-running western brands in contemporary Chinese food service, with more than two decades of continuous presence in the country.
