Xibei is one of China's best-known restaurant chains, specialising in the cuisine of the country's northwest. Its origins date back to 1988, when Jia Guolong opened a small restaurant in Linhe, Inner Mongolia, and its national expansion began in 2002 with the first store under the Xibei Youmian Village name in Beijing's Fengtai district, where the group keeps its headquarters.
The menu is built on the ingredients of the grasslands and the loess plateau: oat noodles in their many forms, Inner Mongolian lamb and beef, handmade breads and dumplings, and slow-cooked dishes served in generous portions.
