About Wagas

Wagas is a cafe and restaurant group from Shanghai founded in 1999, when its Danish founder John Christensen opened a first sandwich and light Western food shop in the city because he could not find a good sandwich there. Headquartered in Jing'an District, the group runs dozens of outlets across around ten mainland Chinese cities and is regarded as a pioneer of healthy light food in China.

Under the Wagas brand it serves power salads, pasta, sandwiches, curries, freshly squeezed juices, specialty coffee and cakes, and it also brings together brands such as the bakery and cafe Baker & Spice, created in 2010 to bake European breads, sourdoughs, pastries and cakes daily for the whole group, plus Bang Café, mr willis, La Strada, Henkes, Mi Thai and Amokka, each with its own concept.

It caters to urban professionals and consumers who want to eat healthily every day without giving up flavour, both in store and through office orders. The group's official website, in Chinese, presents its brands, menus and restaurants by city.
