Wuhan Metro Group Co., Ltd. is the municipal state-owned company in charge of building, operating and financing urban rail transit in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province. Its origins lie in Wuhan Rail Transit Co., founded in 2000 as construction of the first line began; the group was formally established in 2007 on that basis, under authorisation from the municipal government.
