About Meizhou Dongpo

Meizhou Dongpo is a Chinese restaurant group specialising in Sichuan cuisine, founded in Beijing in 1996 by Wang Gang and Liang Di from Meishan, the hometown of the poet and gourmet Su Dongpo, from whom the brand takes its name and inspiration. From a first restaurant in the capital it has grown into one of China's large catering groups, with more than one hundred locations in China and a presence in the United States.

The group combines several formats: the Meizhou Dongpo restaurants serving Sichuan dishes such as kung pao chicken, several styles of mapo tofu, Dongpo fish and Dongpo pork knuckle; the Wangjiadu hot pot chain; Meizhou snack outlets and its private kitchen concept, all supported by a Beijing headquarters with a logistics centre, an R&D centre and a central kitchen that standardises quality.

It serves diners looking for authentic Sichuan cooking at accessible prices for family meals, banquets and celebrations, and its activities also extend to food processing and the sale of food products under the Dongpo brand. Its official group website, in Chinese, presents its brands, its history and its restaurants.
