About Donglaishun Group
Donglaishun is one of China's oldest restaurant brands: it began in 1903 beside Beijing's Dong'an Market, when founder Ding Deshan grew a porridge stall into a lamb specialist restaurant. Its signature dish is shuanyangrou, hand-cut lamb sliced paper-thin and flash-cooked in the traditional charcoal copper pot, served with sesame sauce, sugar garlic and fermented tofu.
Its lamb cutting and preparation technique is listed as national intangible cultural heritage, and the house uses only five selected cuts of Inner Mongolian lamb, with its own meat processing base in Ulanqab. Its kitchen is halal, a legacy of the brand's Muslim tradition, and adds roasted, fried and stir-fried series to the hot pot offer.
Formed as a group in 2003 and part of Beijing Capital Tourism Group, Donglaishun operates more than 150 restaurants, directly run and franchised, covering over twenty provinces. It combines chain expansion with meat products, prepared halal foods and its own logistics, keeping the copper pot as the house symbol.
