About Guangdong Highsun Meida New Materials

Guangdong Highsun Meida New Materials Co., Ltd. is a Chinese polyamide producer based in the Xinhui district of Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, specialising in nylon 6 chips and their conversion into filament yarns. The company descends from Guangdong Xinhui Meida Nylon, founded in 1984 as the first Chinese manufacturer to bring in world-level nylon 6 production technology, and in 1997 it became the first polyamide 6 company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (000782); it is now part of the Highsun group and trades under its current name.

Its production chain is vertically integrated: polymerisation of polyamide 6 chips — regular, copolymer, high-reactivity and modified grades — spinning of nylon filament yarns with functional and differentiated variants, including sustainable products and temperature and humidity control fibres, and knitting and dyeing processes. Output from Xinhui is complemented by subsidiaries in Nanchong (Sichuan), Changde (Hunan) and Heshan (Guangdong), which expand the group's spinning and finishing capacity.

Meida's chips and filaments supply weavers, knitters and garment makers producing fabrics for fashion, sport, lingerie and industrial applications in China and in export markets. The company runs product development programmes with textile universities and a continuing line of higher-value differentiated fibres, with which it seeks to stand out from commodity filament within the synthetic fibre supply chain.
