About Green Tea Restaurant
Green Tea Restaurant is the flagship brand of Green Tea Group, a Chinese casual restaurant operator that began in 2004 as a youth hostel by the tea gardens of West Lake in Hangzhou. The first Green Tea Restaurant opened in 2008 at Longjing, and the brand grew to operate, according to its English website, more than 700 self-owned outlets in over 170 cities and five countries.
Its offer is new Zhejiang cuisine and Chinese fusion cuisine at accessible prices, in spaces decorated with inspiration from traditional Chinese culture. Signature dishes include Longjing roast chicken, Dongpo pork ribs, vermicelli-wrapped shrimp, XiShi tofu in a stone pot and bread with ice cream, with seasonal novelties refreshing the menu every season.
The group has extended its network across 21 provinces, four municipalities and autonomous regions in mainland China, as well as Hong Kong and Macao, and since 2024 has been driving international expansion in Asia. For restaurants and food services, Green Tea is a case of a Chinese regional-cuisine chain combining cultural identity, differentiated decor and large-scale self-owned store operations.
