About Chengdu Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd.

Chengdu Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. is the City of Chengdu's large state-owned enterprise responsible for investing in, building and operating its urban rail transit. Founded in 2004 as Chengdu Metro Co., Ltd. and later restructured as a group, it runs the Chengdu Metro — whose first line opened in 2010 — the city's tramway and its suburban rail lines, from headquarters in the Chengdu Metro Building on Tianfu Avenue.

The group reports total assets above RMB 380 billion and more than 20,000 employees, organised under a small-headquarters model with specialised subsidiaries: a construction company, Chengdu Metro Operation for day-to-day running of the lines, and companies devoted to transit-oriented property development (TOD) and to commercial resources along the network. The approved construction programme reaches 732 kilometres of network.

The operating network exceeds 550 kilometres — including tram line T2 and suburban line S3 towards Ziyang among its services — with more than a dozen lines linking the city's two airports, railway stations and main districts. Passengers are served through the group's official website, the Chengdu Metro service portal (cdmetro.cn) and its official app, with line maps, fares, timetables and service notices.
