About Zijin Mining
Zijin Mining is a large international mining group that grew out of the Zijinshan gold and copper mine in Shanghang County, Longyan, Fujian Province, where the company was founded in 1993. Listed in Hong Kong (2899) and Shanghai (601899), it explores for and mines copper, gold, zinc, lithium, silver and molybdenum, backed by in-house mining research and engineering, and publishes its official website in Spanish as well as other languages.
The group operates more than thirty large-scale mining projects in nineteen countries across five continents, including the Julong copper mine in Tibet, Duobaoshan in Heilongjiang, the Serbian Bor and Čukaru Peki mines — which make it Europe's second-largest copper producer — Kamoa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and gold assets in Ghana, Kazakhstan, Suriname and Colombia. In 2025 it produced about 90 tonnes of mined gold and 1.09 million tonnes of mined copper, with resources of 148 million ounces of gold and around 110 million tonnes of copper.
Zijin ranks among the world's top mining companies on the Forbes Global 2000 and Fortune Global 500 lists, and bases its growth on a five-in-one mining engineering model integrating exploration, mining, processing, smelting and environmental protection. Its strategy combines international acquisitions, expansion of world-class mines and a growing lithium portfolio for the energy transition.
