About CNPC Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe

CNPC Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe, known as BSG, is a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation headquartered in Baoji, Shaanxi Province, founded in 1958. It was China's first manufacturer of spiral submerged arc welded pipe and has grown into the country's largest specialised welded pipe enterprise by scale, product variety and market share, integrating pipe making, anti-corrosion coating and casing processing.

The company operates several SSAW production lines, an ERW line and casing and coupling processing lines, with annual capacity exceeding one million tonnes. Its main products are spiral and longitudinal submerged arc welded pipes, high-frequency ERW pipes and large-diameter, high-grade line pipes — up to X100 grade and 1,422 mm in diameter — for long-distance oil and gas transmission, together with internal and external coating services.

BSG pipes have served China's landmark pipeline projects, including the West-East Gas Pipeline, the Central Asia Gas Pipeline and the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipelines, and have been exported to more than twenty countries. The company hosts China's national centre for welded pipe technology research and inspection and is the designated translation institution for the API 5L specification, reinforcing its technical role within CNPC.
