About Xinjiang Airport (Group) Co., Ltd.

Xinjiang Airport Group is the state-owned enterprise, under the government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, that operates virtually all civil airports in that territory. Created on 16 April 2004 within China's airport localisation reform, it is headquartered in Urumqi and employs thousands of staff dedicated to airport management and related services.

The group manages the largest airport network of any Chinese province, with more than twenty-six civil airports plus a general aviation airport: from the international hub of Urumqi — renamed Tianshan International Airport — to secondary international airports such as Kashgar and Yining, and a dense web of regional airports connecting oasis and desert cities, the Tianshan mountains and the country's western frontier.

Besides operating runways and terminals, the group provides ground handling services to airlines and passengers and develops complementary businesses through subsidiaries in logistics, travel, commerce and construction investment. Its official portal xjairport.com centralises flight and service information for the network's airports, which together handle hundreds of routes and tens of millions of passengers a year.
