About WildChina
WildChina is a bespoke travel company headquartered in Beijing, founded in 2000 by Mei Zhang, a Yunnan native and former McKinsey consultant with a Harvard MBA. It was born to show the China that lies beyond the standard circuits and has become a reference for private, sustainable and experiential travel in the country, with repeated recognition from Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler.
It designs and directly operates its journeys, without subcontracting delivery on the ground, for individual travellers and small groups: tailor-made private itineraries, family trips, educational programmes for schools and universities with workshops, local encounters and service learning, and a corporate events and team-building division in Beijing, Shanghai, Lhasa, Chengdu and Lijiang. It keeps offices and presence in several Chinese cities in addition to its Chaoyang headquarters in Beijing.
Its clients are discerning international travellers, educational institutions and companies seeking access to experts, places and experiences that are hard to arrange independently. Its official website, in English, presents its journeys, its team of experts and its programmes by destination.
