About Lizhi (Sound Group Inc.)
Lizhi is a Chinese online audio platform founded in 2010 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and operated by the group now named Sound Group Inc., listed on Nasdaq. Its flagship app lets any user record, upload and share audio programmes, and it grew into China's largest community for user-generated audio content.
The offer combines on-demand podcasts and radio with interactive live voice entertainment: live audio rooms, music shows, talk, comedy, ACG culture and audiobooks. The group has also developed voice-based social networking products aimed at international markets and a curated podcast line, building an ecosystem in which creators and listeners interact in real time.
Lizhi was the first Chinese audio company to list in the United States, in January 2020, and in recent years it has refocused its strategy on AI voice technology under the Sound Group name. Its headquarters remain at the Yangcheng Creative Industry Zone in Guangzhou's Tianhe District.
