About China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group (CNMC)

China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group, known as CNMC, is a large Chinese central state-owned enterprise founded in 1983 and administered by SASAC, headquartered at the CNMC Building on Anding Road in Beijing. The group engages in non-ferrous metal resource development, international engineering and contracting and related industrial services, and was among the first Chinese companies in its sector to go global.

Its mining activity focuses on copper, cobalt, zinc and other non-ferrous and precious metals, with operating mines and projects in Zambia — such as Chambishi and Luanshya —, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mongolia and other Asian and African countries, in addition to assets in China. It also runs a strong engineering arm that builds mines, smelters and processing plants for third parties around the world.

CNMC integrates the full non-ferrous mining chain, from geological exploration and mine development through to smelting, processing and international metals trading. With more than four decades of international operations and a benchmark position in China-Africa mining cooperation, the group regularly ranks among China's largest companies by revenue and among the leading global mining contractors.
