About Chongqing Airlines

Chongqing Airlines is the home airline of the Chongqing municipality in southwestern China. Set up in 2007 as a joint venture between China Southern Airlines, which holds 60%, and a municipal investment vehicle, it operates from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport under its own commercial identity and the IATA code OQ.

Its network combines trunk and regional routes within China with a set of international destinations in Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. The fleet, made up entirely of Airbus A320-family aircraft, serves both business travellers in the great Yangtze metropolis and the leisure demand departing the Chongqing-Chengdu region.

The airline's official website, in Chinese, offers flight booking and publishes cabin and checked baggage rules, passenger notices and service information for its classes, including a premium economy cabin that inherits the service tradition of its majority shareholder. The airline keeps its own brand, website and schedule, differentiated from China Southern's, although it shares part of its commercial infrastructure with it.
