About China National Technical Import and Export Corporation

China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIC), founded in 1952 and headquartered in Beijing, is one of China's major state-owned technical trading houses: the import and export of technology, complete equipment and engineering services. Since 1998 it has been a wholly-owned subsidiary and founding member of Genertec, and since 2022 part of Genertec International Holding, with 9 domestic subsidiaries and 23 institutions across some 20 countries and regions.

Its official website describes four main fronts. In power energy it has introduced more than 500 projects into China, including some 400 power plants and 60 transmission projects worth about US$18 billion; in infrastructure it acts as bidding agent and contractor for ports, railways, roads, bridges, airports and metros; in industry it has imported nearly 300 sets of metallurgical technology and equipment for over 50 steelmakers; and in environmental protection it totals more than 200 import projects worth about US$1.9 billion.

Alongside this importing activity it contracts international energy and water projects in Central Asia, Africa and other regions, with recent pumping, substation and gas-generation works in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan documented on its site. CNTIC is, in essence, the technology procurement and technical trading arm of the Genertec group.
