About Yantian International Container Terminals
Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT), now presented as Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, is the operating company of the Yantian container terminal in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Established as a joint venture approved in 1993 between the Hutchison Ports group and Shenzhen's Yantian Port Group, it commenced operations in mid-1994 and manages the expansion phases of Yantian Port, a natural deep-water port.
The terminal totals twenty deep-water berths with over nine kilometres of quay length and water depths alongside ranging from 14 to 17.6 metres, able to accommodate several 200,000-DWT vessels simultaneously, and a yard of more than four hundred hectares with capacity for hundreds of thousands of containers. Its official English website publishes vessel schedules, the shipping lines served, import and reefer services, rail-sea intermodal services and feeder services across the Pearl River Delta.
YANTIAN is one of the world's largest container terminals and the leading gateway for the import and export traffic of its manufacturing hinterland, with dozens of shipping lines and around a hundred weekly services to major ports worldwide. It has been named Best Container Terminal in Asia in its category and promotes green shipping corridors with ports in the United States and across the Asia-Pacific region.
