Tongwei Group is a large Chinese private enterprise group headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, built on two pillars: green agriculture and animal husbandry, and photovoltaic new energy. Its roots lie in aquafeed — Tongwei Feed was founded in the early 1990s out of a feed business created by Liu Hanyuan — and its listed arm Tongwei Co., Ltd. (600438) appears in global rankings such as the Fortune Global 500.
In agriculture and livestock, Tongwei is the world's largest manufacturer of aquatic feed and a significant producer of pig, poultry and other animal feeds, with annual feed capacity exceeding 13 million tonnes and a network of more than 70 feed subsidiaries. It adds aquaculture, fish and shrimp farming and processing of aquatic and meat products under the Tongwei brand.
The group combines this agricultural base with its photovoltaic chain of high-purity polysilicon, solar cells and modules, which is listed separately through its solar subsidiary. From Chengdu it operates companies across China and in Southeast Asia and other markets, serving aquaculture farmers, livestock producers and growers with feed, technical services and integration models that link primary production with food processing.
