Stella International Holdings Limited is a Hong Kong group engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of premium footwear and leather goods, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 6 July 2007 under the code 1836. Its official website, stella.com.hk, traces a history that began in 1982, when Jimmy Chen, Jack Chiang and Eric Chao founded the company to produce fashion footwear for United States retail customers, and that was consolidated with its first own factory in Dongguan in 1991 and with Selena, its plant dedicated to premium women's footwear, in 1999.
The group's core business is a one-stop service for international luxury and fashion brands: design, product development, commercialisation and production of casual, athletic, outdoor and high-fashion footwear, joined since 2014 by handbags and other leather goods. Houses it has produced for include Prada, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang and Nike, a partnership dating back to 1999, supported by its Product Creation Center (PCC) opened in 2020 and by factories spread across China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
Alongside manufacturing for third parties, Stella runs its own-brand business with Stella Luna, launched in China in 2006 and taken international with a flagship store in Paris in 2012, as well as the What For brand. It serves both the global brands that seek a premium industrial partner and the consumers of its own-brand footwear in China and international markets, with its corporate headquarters at MG Tower in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
