South East (Fujian) Motor Co., Ltd., trading as Soueast Motor, is a Chinese automobile manufacturer founded in 1995 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, as a joint venture between Fujian Motor Industry Group and China Motor Corporation, with a historical Mitsubishi stake. In March 2024 Chery acquired full ownership and relaunched the brand with an exclusively international strategy under the EASE YOUR LIFE concept, keeping its own headquarters, plant and organisation in Fujian.
Soueast's current range consists of urban SUVs with combustion and plug-in hybrid powertrains using the Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system: the S06 and its hybrid variant, the intelligent S07 and the premium S09 SUV, with further models planned to complete a line-up of around twelve vehicles. The brand combines youthful design, connected cabins and driver-assistance technology with pricing aimed at young families in emerging markets.
Since its relaunch, Soueast has expanded into more than forty countries across the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and Latin America, with KD plants in several regions and a network of hundreds of sales outlets. Its Qingkou base concentrates production and engineering, while the new international organisation, backed by the Chery group's technology capacity, develops market-specific products and sales networks for each export destination.
