Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments Co., Ltd. (SIUI), headquartered in Shantou, Guangdong, is China's longest-established ultrasound manufacturing base, originating from a research institute founded in 1982. As a national high-tech enterprise, it is dedicated to the R&D, manufacture and sale of medical imaging systems and non-destructive testing instruments.
In medical imaging, its Apogee family of color Doppler ultrasound systems ranges from general-purpose units to premium platforms, alongside the IBUS 60 intelligent breast volume ultrasound system, veterinary ultrasound and a digital radiography line whose portable DR system opened the company's medical X-ray range. SIUI supports its systems with its own transducers and accessories.
The industrial non-destructive testing division builds on decades of ultrasonic expertise with phased-array and conventional flaw detectors, thickness gauges and probes, applied in petrochemicals, pressure vessels, shipbuilding, transport and aerospace. SIUI is also the affiliated unit of China's machinery industry ultrasonic instrument quality supervision and testing centre.
