About Shenzhen Media Group
Shenzhen Media Group is the public radio, film and television group of Shenzhen, in Guangdong province. Formed in 2004 through the integration of the city's television and radio broadcasters, the group is the benchmark media operator of one of China's most innovative cities, the country's first special economic zone.
It operates around a dozen television channels — led by Shenzhen Satellite TV, its nationally distributed satellite channel, alongside city, news, film and drama, children's and finance channels — and several radio stations covering news, music, traffic and business. Added to these are its digital and mobile news platforms and, since 2023, an international communication centre aimed at presenting Shenzhen to the outside world.
Its official Chinese-language website presents the channel and station line-up, the group's services and its institutional news. Shenzhen Media Group combines the role of a municipal public broadcaster with the production of entertainment programmes and series distributed nationwide, acting as the audiovisual showcase of the Pearl River Delta's technology city.
