About The Peninsula Hotels
The Peninsula Hotels is the hotel collection of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH), a company incorporated in 1866 and listed in Hong Kong. Its flagship, The Peninsula Hong Kong, opened in 1928 facing the harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui and is known as the 'Grande Dame of the Far East', a symbol of classic Asian luxury.
The collection is deliberately small and exclusive: a dozen hotels in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Bangkok, Manila, New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills, London, Paris and Istanbul. Each property combines landmark architecture, reference restaurants — several Michelin-starred — award-winning spas and signature touches such as its Rolls-Royce fleet and concierge service.
HSH owns, develops and manages its hotels outright, an uncommon model that guarantees total control of the experience. The group also holds commercial and residential properties, Hong Kong's Peak Tram and leisure businesses, keeping a selective growth strategy with very few openings per decade.
