About Light Chaser Animation

Light Chaser Animation Studios is a Chinese CG animation film studio based in Beijing, founded in March 2013 by Gary Wang, founder and former chief executive of the video platform Tudou. Its official website states the goal of creating world-class animated films with a Chinese cultural touch, combining technology and art to produce unprecedented work, with a team bringing together Chinese talent and professionals experienced at studios in the United States and France.

The studio released its first feature, Little Door Gods, on 1 January 2016 in China, inspired by the door gods believed in many Asian cultures to protect households, and has since built a family animation filmography recognised for its visual finish. Its first short, Little Yeyos, and its later features established the brand as a reference in contemporary Chinese animation aimed at both domestic and international audiences.

Based at Art Base One in Cuigezhuang, in Beijing's Chaoyang District, Light Chaser employs more than one hundred people and handles applications and enquiries through its official website. In media, content and entertainment it provides the profile of an auteur CG animation studio: its own intellectual property, Chinese-rooted storytelling and international technical ambition.
