Laws Group (LAWSGROUP) is a Hong Kong apparel manufacturer founded in 1975 by Law Ting-pong as a small knitwear factory. Fifty years on, it describes itself as one of the leading apparel manufacturers in the world, with over 20,000 workers sewing clothes for international fashion brands in factories across China and other Asian countries.
Its manufacturing division supplies clients worldwide using advanced technologies and management systems in all its factories, recognised with awards for chemical control, emission reduction and workplace management. Among the first Hong Kong manufacturers to move into mainland China, the group keeps factories in Shenzhen and Zhuhai and further production in countries such as Myanmar, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
Over time Laws diversified into retail and branding — it founded the Bossini fashion chain — and into property investment, with projects such as the D2 Place creative hubs in Lai Chi Kok, Hong Kong. Even so, apparel manufacturing remains its historic heart and the first of its four major business lines.
