About Jinchuan Group
Jinchuan Group, headquartered in Jinchang, Gansu Province, is a state-controlled conglomerate established in 1959 under the People's Government of Gansu, specialising in mining, mineral processing, smelting, chemical production and advanced processing of non-ferrous metals. It is China's largest nickel and cobalt production base and a world-leading platinum group metals refining centre, built on the world's third-largest nickel-copper sulfide deposit.
The group produces nickel, copper, cobalt, gold, silver, platinum group metals, advanced non-ferrous materials and chemical products, with annual capacities of roughly 200,000 tons of nickel, one million tons of copper and 10,000 tons of cobalt. It ranks second globally in nickel production, fourth in cobalt, first in Asia in platinum group metals and third in China in copper, and appears on the Fortune Global 500 list.
Its six major sectors — nickel and cobalt, copper and precious metals, science and technology, new materials, new energy and innovation — form a complete industrial chain running from mineral resources to battery materials, including ternary precursors, cathode materials and used-battery recycling. Jinchuan develops resources and industrial cooperation across more than thirty countries and around twenty Chinese provinces.
