About IM Motors
IM Motors, Zhiji in Chinese, is the premium intelligent electric vehicle brand created at the end of 2020 as a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech and Alibaba Group, headquartered in Shanghai. It was set up to compete in China's premium new-mobility segment by combining SAIC's industrial and manufacturing strength with the software and artificial intelligence technology of the Alibaba ecosystem.
Its range covers electric and range-extended saloons and SUVs — the L families (L6 and L7) and LS families (LS6, LS7 and the newer LS8 and LS9) — built on 800-volt electrical architectures and the 'Lingxi' (Lizard) digital chassis, which coordinates drive, braking and suspension to improve handling and safety. The IM AIOS intelligent cockpit and the IM AD assisted-driving system, developed with Momenta, use lidar and high-compute platforms.
IM Motors sells in China through its own experience centres and online channels, with the 400-100-7777 hotline published on its official website, and has begun expanding into selected international markets on the back of the SAIC group's network. The brand serves as the technology flagship of China's largest carmaker in the software-defined vehicle era.
