Huafon Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese polymer new materials group founded in 1991 and headquartered in Ruian, Zhejiang Province. It ranks among China's Top 500 enterprises, employs more than eighteen thousand people and controls over fifty subsidiaries, including three listed companies: Huafon Chemical, Huafon Microfiber and Huafon Aluminum. Within the textile field, its flagship product is spandex elastic fibre.
Through Huafon Chemical, established in December 1999, the group is one of the world's largest spandex manufacturers, marketing the fibre under the Qianxi brand in counts from 10D to 2500D for circular knitting, warp knitting, woven fabrics, covered yarns, narrow fabrics and hygiene products. Its two major spandex bases are in Ruian (Zhejiang) and Fuling (Chongqing), and the Chongqing plant was recognised as a World Economic Forum Lighthouse Factory, the first chemical fibre base to receive that distinction. The key raw material, PTMEG, is produced within its own integrated chain.
Huafon's synthetic fibre and materials offer is completed by PA66 and its industrial yarns, microfibre, TPU and biodegradable materials, served by a sales network covering China and global markets. For weavers and garment makers, the group provides scale supply of differentiated elastane, including recycled, antibacterial and high chlorine resistant variants.
