About Feiyue Shoes

Feiyue Shoes is a footwear brand born in Shanghai, where Dafu Rubber designed in 1958 a light civilian shoe derived from the cloth shoes used by Shaolin monks.

The Feiyue shoe, in canvas with a thin rubber sole, became the reference footwear of Chinese wushu practitioners, athletes and schoolchildren for its lightness, flexibility and grip. Today's catalogue reinterprets the classic model in contemporary colours and collaborations, keeping the low silhouette and minimalist profile that made it recognisable worldwide.

Together with Warrior, Feiyue dominated Chinese sports footwear between the 1960s and 1980s, and its revival as a retro icon brought it back to fashion stores inside and outside China. This entry covers the original Shanghai brand and its Chinese official site; the international exploitation of the label has followed a separate corporate path, which explains the coexistence of Feiyue stores under different ownership abroad.
