About China National Complete Plant Import and Export Group

China National Complete Plant Import and Export Group, known by its COMPLANT brand, was established in 1959 with the approval of Premier Zhou Enlai as the Chinese government's specialised agency for organising foreign economic and technical aid projects. Headquartered in Beijing with registered capital of RMB 2.7 billion, it has built more than 1,600 projects in over 100 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America, including icons such as the Tanzania-Zambia railway.

Its commercial activity, described on its official website complant.com, rests on three blocks: exports of complete plants and equipment together with overseas project contracting, investment and operation of businesses abroad, and general import and export trade. It controls 9 subsidiaries and holds stakes in 2 others, including listed Complant Ltd (000151.SZ), and appears regularly in ENR's Top 250 International Contractors list.

In 2024 the company joined Genertec as its strategic platform for 'new energy + environmental protection', refocusing its trading on wind, photovoltaic, storage and integrated energy management projects across Belt and Road markets. COMPLANT operates with its own brand, website and structure, distinct from its listed subsidiary Complant Ltd.
