Chongqing Shineray Motorcycle Co., Ltd. is the motorcycle subsidiary of the Dongfang Shineray group and one of China's prominent mid-to-high-end motorcycle companies. Founded in 1997, it has its headquarters and manufacturing base at Shineray Industrial Park in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, with more than 120,000 square metres of modern production facilities and an annual capacity of about 500,000 motorcycles and one million engines.
The company works with two brands: SHINERAY, its main brand, and SWM, the historic Italian brand owned by the group, for which it maintains a European design, R&D, manufacturing and marketing centre in Italy. Its full range covers thirteen major series and more than 150 models from 50 to 650 cc: street and underbone motorcycles, off-road and adventure bikes, sidecar outfits, ATVs and adventure scooters, all supported by its own engine platform.
Its products are sold across China's 31 provinces and municipalities and in more than one hundred countries and regions. In recent years the company has upgraded production with AGV intelligent assembly lines and machining centres, strengthened its presence at shows such as EICMA in Milan with premium SWM models, and presents its range and news on its official English-language website.
