About China United Airlines

China United Airlines (中国联合航空) is a Chinese low-cost carrier headquartered at Beijing Daxing International Airport, its main operating base since 26 September 2019, when it became the first airline to move its entire operation there from the historic Nanyuan airport. It flies under IATA code KN, ICAO code CUA and the call sign Lianhang, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines, while keeping its own brand, network and website, published only in Chinese at flycua.com.

Founded on 25 December 1986 as the civil transport arm of the People's Liberation Army Air Force, the airline was relaunched in 2005 under Shanghai Airlines and joined the China Eastern group in 2010. It presents itself as China's first state-owned innovative economy airline and, uniquely among the country's civil carriers, it remains permitted to serve military air bases as destinations. Its structure includes branches in Hebei, Tianjin, Sichuan and Zhejiang and the subsidiary that manages Foshan Shadi Airport.

Its network reaches 87 destinations across China, Russia and Laos, with additional operating bases at Chengdu Tianfu, Foshan, Shijiazhuang and Wenzhou, and a fleet of around sixty Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. Several of its jets wear special liveries dedicated to Chinese cities such as Anshun, Baotou, Rizhao, Xingyi, Qingyang, Lianyungang and Wuhu. Through its official website it sells tickets, offers online check-in and publishes its conditions of carriage and its piece-based baggage scheme for international flights, with a customer service centre reachable on 400-102-6666.
