About BROAD Group
BROAD Group is a private Chinese group founded in 1988 by Zhang Yue, headquartered at BROAD Town, its own one-square-kilometer campus in the eastern suburbs of Changsha, Hunan province. The group employs more than 3,000 people and exports its products to more than eighty countries, with subsidiaries and sales and service offices in the United States, France, Australia, India, Pakistan and Indonesia.
Its founding company, Broad Air Conditioning, supplies non-electric central air conditioning: direct-fired lithium bromide absorption chillers powered by natural gas, oil or waste heat, together with packaged water distribution systems and combined cooling, heating and power solutions. In 1992 it launched China's first CFC-free non-electric air conditioner and later the first non-electric unit powered by turbine exhaust gas, a technology aimed at commercial, civil and industrial buildings.
The group completes its climate offering with Broad Clean Air Technology, created in 2005, which manufactures fresh air machines with 80% heat recovery and 99.9% filtration of PM2.5 particles, as well as air purifiers and air quality monitors. Since 2009, Broad Sustainable Building has developed factory-made prefabricated buildings using B-CORE slabs, claiming five times lower energy consumption and indoor air one hundred times cleaner than outdoors.
