Shandong Aotai Electric Co., Ltd. is a Chinese welding and cutting equipment manufacturer based in the High-tech Development Zone of Jinan, Shandong. The company was founded in 1993 by several professors and their graduate students from Shandong University and has grown into one of China's leading makers of inverter welding equipment, with a strong commitment to in-house research and development.
Its catalogue offers nearly 100 welding machine models in 13 series, including inverter MMA, inverter TIG, inverter MIG, inverter submerged arc (SAW), water cooling machines, inverter air plasma cutters and a variety of accessories, as well as automated and orbital welding systems for demanding industrial applications such as shipbuilding. Since 2009 its solar division has also manufactured on-grid and hybrid photovoltaic inverters, with total installation of over 10 GW.
Aotai reports 572 R&D staff, 38 modern production lines, four R&D centres and 322 patents, and subjects its equipment to mechanical, EMC, climate and life tests designed for harsh environments. Its machines are sold in 128 countries and areas, supported by fast on-site technical service and an international distributor network served from Jinan.
